Prague
Prague (Praha) is the capital of the Czech Republic, built around the Vltava river and dominated by Prague Castle and the medieval Old Town. The city drew a record 8.1 million visitors in 2024, with foreign overnight stays returning to pre-pandemic peaks. Prague 1, the historic core, has become the focus of overtourism measures: a city-wide ban on organised night-time pub crawls, a nighttime motor-vehicle ban in the Old Town, and a January 2026 ban on shared e-scooters.

Movement through central areas is slow — expect to dodge and wait. Lines at major sights routinely exceed 1–2 hours without pre-booking. Iconic views are difficult to photograph without crowds in frame. Local residents have publicly raised concerns about visitor volume.
