Kotor

Kotor is a fortified medieval town on the Bay of Kotor in southwestern Montenegro and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its compact pedestrianised old town, ringed by mountains and city walls, receives nearly 500 cruise ship calls per year, with peak days bringing four ships and roughly 5,000 passengers into a town of about 13,000 residents. Local officials and residents have repeatedly raised concerns about congestion, infrastructure strain and pressure on the bay's environmental and heritage status.
